The Client

Shafston International College is a leading English language school in Brisbane, consistently ranked among the top ten in the world by Ryugaku Journal.

With a rich history dating back to 1996, the college has welcomed over 120,000 students from over 100 countries and has established itself as a dynamic and thriving hub for international education.

The Challenge

Our goal in designing the yearly brochure was to appeal to a diverse education sector audience. We aimed to make essential information accessible for international students and provide high-quality images and statistics for education and migration agents. We also emphasized Shafston’s combination of tradition and modernity as a competitive advantage.

The process

The creative process for the Shafston brochure started with campus visits to gain insight into the institution’s history, generate ideas, and establish priorities. Compliance with government regulations was a key concern, requiring careful attention to content while also maintaining a visually appealing design for all audiences.

After researching Shafston’s previous marketing materials and those of its competitors, three concepts were presented: conservative, radical, and moderate. The client selected one of these concepts, and together, the ideas were integrated into a final layout.

Once the layout was approved, animations and interactive elements were added using Adobe Creative Cloud to fully showcase the brochure’s potential.

The results

The new brochures were expected to bring an increase of 15% of new students, according to early projections. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the industry, Shafston has taken a great market advantage by simply having the brochures ready on the shelves before everyone was caught in surprise.

Reginaldo’s ability to understand our brand and target audience and turn that into visually stunning brochures was impressive. The feedback we have received from both our team and students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many noting how much easier it is to access and understand the course details.
